Abstract

For a secondary psoas abscess, it is essential to find the primary lesion and treat them together. Any delay in diagnosis and treatment for the primary lesion has a risk of increased morbidity and mortality. This paper reports a case in which a secondary psoas abscess occurred due to pyelonephritis of the residual kidney combined with a fistula of the ureter and duodenum in a patient who underwent partial nephrectomy 10 years earlier, but the diagnosis and treatment of the primary lesion were delayed.
